cbp explained

Clinical Biomechanics of Posture (CBP) or Chiro Bio Physics, is a specialised form of chiropractic care that effectively identifies the bio-structural integrity of the body and applies systematic correction techniques to restore normal structure and function to the patient.

In simpler terms, CBP uses mathematical angles to measure how correct your spinal and pelvic structure is and whether any corrective measures are needed to restore your structure back to normal.

CBP uncovered a mathematical model of normal spine and pelvic structures. In an ideal world, the normal spine structure allows the perfect platform to support the head and upper limbs for ideal function while the normal pelvic structure anchors the spine and allows free flowing movement of the lower limbs.

Unfortunately our bodies are not created equal or perfectly maintained in everyday life. From day one, our spine and pelvis are subjected to a range of stresses including childbirth, bumps and knocks during childhood, through to slow posture degeneration from poor ergonomics and inactivity in adulthood.

As the spine and pelvis structures begin to deteriorate, the once ideal curves and angles begin to distort and cause a range of problems. For example, a hunched back from poor posture will cause the head to stoop forward and the neck structure to form an abnormal curve forward causing neck and shoulder pain.

The CBP Model can be overlayed onto a structural X-Ray to highlight any abnormal curves and problem areas. Proven restoration techniques are employed the begin the rehabilitation process to bring each structure back to normal.

The simple solution to re-training these structures back to a normal model is through the use of sophisticated traction machines and the Mirror Image technique. See CBP Solution for a look at the Mirror Image technique in action.

In a nutshell, CBP analyses your structure, outlines the root cause of your symptoms, dictates what needs to happen to restore your structure, then helps you maintain your structure for the long term. CBP has allowed chiropractic care to move beyond treating symptoms, to finding the root cause of the problem, then providing a lasting and sustainable solution.
